Indian Railways to stop train services from December 1? Here’s the truth

A WhatsApp message goes viral which claims that trains services will stop operating from December 1. The message claims that Covid particular trains which have been introduced by the authorities to ferry passengers may even be stopped. 

However, the message is pretend. The circulation of the message on the in style messaging app has induced panic amongst passengers.

According to the truth verify wing of the Press Information Bureau, the declare relating to the operations of trains is completely incorrect. It stated that the Ministry of Railways has taken no such resolution on halting train services.

“It is claimed in a #WhatsApp forward that all trains including the #COVID19 special trains will stop operating after 1st December. #PIBFactCheck: This claim is #Fake. @RailMinIndia has taken no such decision on halting of train services after 1st December,” it stated in a tweet.

A number of misinformation and pretend information is circulating on social media platforms ever since the coronavirus pandemic rocked the nation. The authorities had in March suspended the train services to prohibit the motion of the folks. The services have been resumed partially in June. Indian Railways is presently operating restricted trains with strict Covid protocols in place. 

The authorities has repeatedly urged the public to keep away from falling prey to misinformation and pretend information. The Press Information Bureau launched the fact-checking arm in December 2019 to curb misinformation and pretend information prevalent on social media. The authorities encourages folks to report suspicious messages.
