Some hardworking volunteers are hoping Calgary’s new metropolis council will help increasing their efforts to assist feed struggling individuals within the metropolis.

Volunteers with the Highfield Farm non-profit group have been out Monday harvesting crops after their first season of rising meals on unused land owned by the Metropolis of Calgary in an industrial space within the metropolis’s southeast.

“(Rising) cabbages, cauliflower, chard, carrots, dill, sage, parsley,” Highfield Farm’s Heather Ramshaw stated.  “Mainly, something you’ll be able to develop in Calgary, we tried.”
