As many as 218 peole have been challaned over non-compliance with pollution management measures in North Delhi, within the final seven days. According to a press release issued by the NDMC, it has issued challans to 218 violators and picked up Rs 18.18 lakhs within the final seven days. As many as 91 challans for Rs 4.10 lakhs have been issued for unlawful dumping and burning of rubbish and plastic waste after inspecting 1,178 websites whereas 30 challans amounting to Rs 1.three lakh have been issued for C&D actions (unlawful dumping) after inspecting 142 websites, it stated.
Moreover, 97 challans have been issued for Rs 12.78 lakhs for mud management violations at building websites after inspecting 379 websites.
The NDMC has deployed 48 groups to patrol day and night time to verify violations in respect of biomass burning, C&D waste dumping and many others.
“It developed the 1,880.75 sq metre of the area into green and paved 7,475.41 sq metre of area to check the dust pollution. 907 saplings were planted during the period. To check the polluting and unauthorized industries, 64 teams have been deployed which observed violations at 13 places, 5 units were closed while show-cause notices were issued to 8. In all 70 prosecutions were launched for different violations during the last week,” the assertion learn.
The civic physique lifted 32,766.445 MT of rubbish waste, 2,935.385 MT of plastic waste and 4,769.476 MT of building and demolition waste through the interval.
