Telugu Desam Legislature Party Deputy leader and former Andhra Pradesh minister Okay Atchannaidu was taken into custody by state Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths early on Friday in reference to alleged Rs 151 crore scam in the ESI Corporation.
The member of State Legislative Assembly was taken into custody from his home in Nimmada village in Srikakulam district round 7.30 a.m. He is prone to be produced earlier than a Justice of the Peace in Visakhapatnam.
He is allegedly concerned in irregularities in procurement of medicines and tools for Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) hospitals in the course of the TDP rule.
In February this 12 months, the Vigilance and Enforcement division had introduced that unearthed a serious scam in procurement of medicines and different objects price over Rs 975 crore in ESI hospitals by the Insurance Medical Services (IMS) directorate in the final 5 years.
TDP senior leader Chandrababu’s shut affiliate Minister Achchennaidu is reported to have a serious position in the scam. Atchannaidu was the Labour Minister in the earlier TDP authorities when the scandal allegedly happened in the procurement of medicines and medical tools.
Atchannaidu allegedly directed the then IMS director to difficulty work orders to an organization named aTele Health Services Pvt Ltd’, with out inviting open tenders.
The TDP leader had denied involvement in any irregularities. Meanwhile, TDP president and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu alleged that Atchannaidu was akidnapped’ from his home.
The leader of opposition mentioned Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy can be chargeable for any hurt to the previous minister.
Naidu demanded the Director General of Police to disclose the whereabouts of Atchannaidu.
