The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Sunday “clarified” passengers can take photographs and videos inside flights but can’t use any recording gear that creates chaos, disrupts flight operations, violates security norms or is banned by the crew members. On Saturday, the regulator had stated that a scheduled flight might be suspended for a interval of two weeks if anybody is discovered taking images contained in the airplane.

The Saturday order acknowledged that as per Rule 13 of the Aircraft Rules 1937, no individual is allowed to take any images inside a flight besides when permission is granted by the DGCA or the Civil Aviation Ministry.
As per the DGCA guidelines, an airline can put an “unruly passenger” on its “no-fly list” for a sure time period after an inside enquiry.
