The Centre has issued an ordinance, making pollution an offence with a jail time period, which might go up to 5 years and a penalty up to Rs 1 crore. The ordinance was issued on Wednesday night time after the approval of the President.

The chairman of the Commission might be chosen by a committee headed by minister for setting and forest and it’ll additionally comprise ministers for transport and commerce, science and know-how in addition to Cabinet secretary, as members.
