Unlock 5.0: I&B Ministry releases SOPs for cinema halls, theatres, multiplexes

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) has launched the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cinema halls which might be set to reopen October 15 onward. Cinema halls are set to reopen after seven months of shut down as a consequence of COVID-19, with 50 per cent capability and one-seat distance between the viewers. “Cinema halls are shut for last seven months. They are now opening from October 15. For safety of people, we have come out with SOP to be followed,” Javadekar mentioned. Alternate seats can be left vacant for social distancing. Wearing masks always contained in the corridor can be essential, he added.

SOPs for cinema halls

  1. Occupancy of the auditorium shall not be greater than 50%
  2. Adequate bodily distancing whereas seating
  3. Seats “not to be occupied” shall be marked as such
  4. Provision for hand wash and hand sanitisers
  5. Installation and use of Aarogya Setu App shall be suggested to all
  6. Thermal screening to be carried out. Only asymptomatic people shall be allowed
  7. Self monitoring of well being and reporting any sickness
  8. Staggered present timings shall be adopted for various screens
  9. Digital modes of funds to be inspired
  10. Regular cleansing and disinfection on the field workplace, and different areas
  11. Sufficient variety of counters on the field workplace shall be opened
  12. Audience inspired to keep away from motion through the intermission
  13. Floor markers shall be used for bodily distancing for queue administration at field workplace
  14. Purchase of tickets at field workplace to be open all through the day, advance reserving to be allowed to keep away from crowding
  15. Spitting shall be strictly prohibited.
