Dalit farmer in UP beheaded for not sharing water

In a stunning incident, a Dalit farmer was beheaded in Uttar Pradesh as a result of he refused to share water for irrigation with one other farmer. The police have arrested the accused.

The incident passed off in Badaun’s Din Nagar Sheikhpur village the place Nathu Lal Jatav was watering his subject late Monday.

Another farmer, Roop Kishore, requested Jatav to divert water to his subject however Jatav refused, saying that his subject wanted extra water.

Jatav was then overwhelmed up and beheaded by the indignant farmer.

Some locals tried to intervene, however fled when Roop Kishore attacked Jatav with a spade. The 56-year-old farmer is reported to have slumped to his loss of life.

Jatav’s son, Ompal, advised reporters that he and his father had been working within the subject until late within the night time.

“My father told me to go home and keep dinner for him. When he did not return home till the early hours of the morning, I went to the field. On the way, one of the locals told me that Roop Kishore had killed my father. I reached the spot and saw my father’s beheaded body lying there,” Ompal stated.

Ompal additional stated that Roop Kishore alone might not have dedicated the crime and there have been a number of others with him.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Siddharth Verma stated that an FIR has been lodged in opposition to Roop Kishore on the idea of Ompal’s criticism.

“Roop Kishore has been booked for murder and under sections of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act at the Bilsi police station. He was absconding, but we have tracked him down and arrested him. Further investigations are underway to find out if more people were involved,” the SP stated.

The household has been handed over the physique after the autopsy on Tuesday.

The Din Nagar Sheikhpur village the place the incident passed off, is a predominantly Dalit village with practically 70 per cent of the inhabitants being Scheduled Castes.
